RE: January 8th - Nomination Meeting for Special Election
Dear Community Members:
The Tribal Court is monitoring the Special Election scheduled for January 22, 2022. The Nomination Meeting will be held virtually. This decision was made by the Court in response to the recommendation of the Director of Health. Please see the specific recommendation from Dr. Leonard, the Director of Health. The health of the Community is my priority.
The alternative was to not hold a Nomination Meeting and accept Nominations by drive-through as has been the practice for the last three elections. The Court and the Election Board are providing a forum for the potential candidates to make statements and answer questions from the Community. This virtual meeting requires an internet connection or phone to participate. The meeting may also be accessed in real time on any computer, laptop or smart phone. Please submit your questions for the potential candidates to elections@sanjuanpaiute-nsn.gov and they will be read by the moderator during the Nomination Meeting.
The Nomination Meeting will be recorded and can be replayed through the website.
