“On January 5, the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe Court of Appeals issued an Opinion regarding the challenges to the Special Election held on December 5, 2020. In its Opinion, the Court held that “Michael King is the duly elected President” and “[Nicole] Edgewater is the duly elected member from the Northern Area.” Therefore, the Election Board will swear in the following tribal members next week:
President: Michael King
Vice President: Candeloria Lehi
Northern Area: Nicole Edgewater
Southern Area: Danlyn James
Congratulations to the new Council Member-Elects. For the health and safety of our tribal members, there will not be a public swearing-in ceremony at this time.”
